Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). You have likely heard the words lately, but have you taken the time to let the profound impact of the words sink in?
DEI stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Diversity is the presence of difference within a particular setting. In the workforce, that means differences in race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, and socioeconomic class.
- Equity is the process of ensuring that all processes and programs are impartial, fair, and balanced for everyone.
- Inclusion is the process of ensuring that all people have a sense of belonging. All employees feel comfortable and supported by the organization when it comes to just being themselves.
Premium Waters, Inc. is committed to developing and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusivity. The commitment is outlined in our Equity Statement below.
Equity Statement: Ensuring Opportunities for All
Premium Waters is committed to advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and fairness in all forms. We at Premium Waters, Inc. believe that labels belong on bottled water, not people. Premium Waters has been and continues to be committed to cultivating a culturally inclusive workplace that hires, trains, and promotes regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, age, religion, disability, political beliefs, veteran status, or any other federal, state, or local protected class. We will continue to strive to foster an environment that celebrates differences in our teams at all PWI locations. We recognize that a diverse and inclusive workforce results in better decision-making, faster and more innovative problem solving, and creates a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
As noted above, at Premium Waters, Inc., we are actively working to attract, train, retain, and promote a diverse and highly skilled workforce to ensure the best outcomes for our customers while fostering a positive and nurturing environment for our employees. We are proud to invest in our valued employees through initiatives like offering tuition reimbursement programs.
Our plant, home & office delivery and corporate management teams, including our board of directors, participate in extensive training. The 40-hour course provides our managers with an in-depth analysis of what makes diversity so important, how existing solutions have mitigated diversity barriers, and how to create long-lasting diverse organizations and teams. Along with that, all employees at PWI have access to internal training on inclusivity that promotes valuing each other’s differences and recognizing each other’s unique qualities, skills, and talents.
PWI has a volunteer DEI Committee that is made up of individuals from different departments within the company. They come together to provide innovation, oversight, and guidance to ensure that our DEI principals are reflected companywide. One recent initiative was developing a cultural events calendar, along with supporting collateral, to educate our teams and heighten awareness and understanding.
